CodeGeass
With a Code Geass relaunch on the way, could this be what we’ve been waiting for?

With the winter anime season slowly coming to a close, many news outlets recently covered the announcement of the Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya (Code Geass: Jet-Black Renya or Code Geass: Renya of the Blackness) manga. Like many other Geass fans, I quickly read up the info we received and then promptly started hoping for an anime adaptation. Why should this be any different from the other manga releases, Nightmare of Nunnally, and Suzaku of the Counterattack? Well, the interesting tidbit is that Goro Taniguchi, the director and story co-creator of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is the man behind the story in this offshoot. Fans are lit with questions.

The above art is the scan containing any information that we know, as well as showing more of the new characters. Although C.C. returns as “Reif? C.C.” this series is set eras before the anime, introducing Renya; a mechanical arm weilding, shuriken throwing 17 year old boy who makes a pact with Reif? C.C. Around this same time, a mysterious man that looks strangely like a long haired Lelouch. It is worth noting that in the art shown, he does not seem to have any Geass powers, but this may change or be hidden.

With all of this new information, many are curious if Goro Taniguchi being behind the story will cause this to become an anime as well, perhaps an OVA or a movie release. Time will tell, and you can be sure that you’ll hear much more as more info is found. My only question is this;

What will become of Kallen?
